Neck pain is a huge problem in modern life and one thing that gets a lot of the blame for this is: The phone. Phones are great. We spend a lot of time on them each day and that’s not going to change any time soon. But does that mean that we are doomed to the head, neck and shoulder pain that has become known as text or tech neck? I don’t think so and I’m going to show you 3 simple ways that the Alexander Technique can help you to carry on using your phone but stop the pain.
"Phones act like a black hole. Everything about them is designed to absorb our attention and the trouble is that our attention is soon followed by our head, neck and shoulders and back..."
Because phones absorb so much of our attention, we just don’t realise that we have got into these awkward positions
And if we distort our body in this way for long periods of time, and repeat it day after day we can develop pain and in some cases, more serious, long-term problems
Although people blame mobile phones for these problems, there’s actually nothing wrong with the phone. We just need to put a bit of thought into how best to use them
